CARNEGIE PUBLIC LIBRARY     

 

The library was donated to Eureka Springs by the steel magnate Andrew Carnegie. The library will celebrate it’s Centennial this year. The front steps were part of the stairway that led up the hill to the Crescent Hotel.

CENTENNIAL MURAL

 

A mural 12 ft. high & 55 ft. wide that depicts scenes from the early days of Eureka Springs. Designed by well known artist Louis Freund. It adorns one wall of the Chandler Bldg on Main St.

CHRIST OF THE OZARKS STATUE

 

Located on the grounds of The Great Passion Play. This majestic seven story statue was completed in 1966, sculpted by Emmet Sullivan who was one of the sculptors of Mt Rushmore. It weighs over 2 million pounds, the face is 15 ft long, hands measure 7 ft from finger tips to the wrist, the arm span, fingertip to fingertip, is 65 ft.

One of the 10 flights of stairs in Eureka Springs leading from one street to another. Jacob’s Ladder has more than 200 steps which connect three streets. It begins on Jackson St, near Main & East Mountain, crosses Linzey Street and comes out on Copper Street.

LITTLE GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE

 

Listed on The National Register of Historical Places.

Located at Beaver, Hwy 187 where the White River and Table Rock Lake meet. Arkansas’ only operating one lane suspension bridge, built in 1948-49, featured in the movie Elizabeth Town.
